在來到美國當華語教師前，每到過年，就是我癱在家裡床上、沙發上，等著被餵食的悠哉日子；不過赴美當上華語教師後的這兩年，「中國新年」（Chinese New Year，或稱 Lunar New Year）期間，我卻總像是個處於備戰狀態的小媳婦。除了一堆「新年相關課程」要準備、以及全校性的大型活動要籌辦外，我還要帶著美國學生們「包」水餃、「寫」春聯、甚至練習「舞龍舞獅」......。
